    hi,

im considering getting this for use in work. working in an architectural practice and working mainly with 3D software and a good bit of photoshop.

Thing is, i dont know anyone who has one so cant try it out first. what are the main advantages of these and are they used for very sketchy work or can they be used accurately etc...

sorry if im being vague about it. Any info appreciated

They can be very useful. I'm a lefty and I find myself switching between it and the mouse (which I use with the right hand) a lot in Photoshop. The pressure sensitivity is great for masking and brush work. Wacom would be the preferred brand for tablets tho. I'm not too sure about trust.

I have got the Aldi one and no complains after five uses :-)

Different style of work. But great!

I bought a nisis graphics tablet off ebay for around €20 + P&P which would be good to use and try and if you dont like it then its only €20 lost compared to €70-ish.I use this quiet alot and i like it cant find any problems with it.probably wont be as good as the one you are looking at but it will give you a good feel for them.Enjoy it when you get it they are good fun

I have to say, I don't think they're all that great for intricate work, the mouse is just so precise in comparison, even the difference from when you think the pen makes contact to where it ends up is enough to put me off using it.. And I was dying to get one!

Another experience after about 12 hours working with tablet.
Yes, I am glad I bought it. Retouching, masking, selections, everything is different, maybe even easier. And it is much more comfortable for hand, than using mice.

I found once you adjust the sensitivity with a bit of trial and error they're great... though the one I have keeps turning all my settings to German, so, eh, it's not used that often. :p
