Underfloor heating controllers

    Hi all

I have a WAK 100 central heating controller (see attached PDF) and an SM-5 mixer controller for my underfloor heating. The mixing valve is a T-60

Does anyone have an idea how to wire this up correctly. The mixing is controlled correctly but I cannot figure out how to wire the burner to start. The burner (firebird 90/120) is 100ft from the mixer and has it's own pump. When the burner is fired it will also turn on it's own pump.

At the moment I have hardwire the boiler (and pump) to switch on when the WAK-100 is powered up. But I'm not sure this is correct as the WAK-100 unit is supposed to turn on the boiler if the outside temperature drops below some set temperature.

In total there are three zones, all controlled by a 3 zone horstmann 37XL. First zone is the underfloor, second is the rads upstairs and the third is the hot water tank. The hot-water tank has a tank stat which turns off the zone valve when the water has reached target temp (55 degrees). The upstairs rads are completly controlled by the Horstmann via a zone valve.

So my big problem is, how do I control the boiler when just using zone 1, the underfloor. I have attached two PDFs, one for the WAK-100 and the second is the wiring as it is now apart form the boiler switch which currently hardwire to live (pin 14) as long as the zone is turned on by the horstmann.

    Hope this makes sense.

Moved to electrical. They will sort it.

I am not familiar with the equipment you are using and I don’t understand 100% what you are asking, so I hope this helps.
So my big problem is, how do I control the boiler when just using zone 1, the underfloor.

What I do is I have each channel of the time clock energising a 10A normally open contactor. Any one of the three contactors could bring the boiler on without affecting the other zones.

Look at my drawing and see if it makes sense. If not PM me and I will ring you and talk you though it.

Most mixing valves have an auxiliary contact built in to turn on the boiler.
I think in your case it's the one marked 'boiler switch' terminals 1 and 2.

All of these aux contacts connect in parallel so that any one of them runs the boiler when calling for heat.
