is it possible that you could make the front page of boards customisable in future?
the option to select or deselect categories or even particular forums from appearing in the new thread list would help make boards more user friendy now that there seems to a new post every second during peak times.

options to subscribe to blogs, podcasts, watch adverts and so on would all increase functionailty.
may also help you to taget ads based on what a person subscribes to.

is this a possiblity, do other users want it?

posibly one for the new boards developer...

Actually, that's not a bad idea at all. Extend the "Subscribed" functionallity maybe?

You can do some of this already:

    1. On the upper lefthand side of the front page there is a "Filter Latest Posts" heading over a list of our major categories. Click one of those categories and the "Latest posts" list in the middle will filter to the latest posts JUST FROM THAT CATEGORY.

    2. If you subscribe to a few forums (on the Forum page, under Forum Tools drop down, upper right). Then you will see that forum in your Subbed list in the nav. Subscribe to a few of them and then when you click the "Subscribed" link in the category list on the left of the front page, you will be shown only new posts from those subscribed forums.

The other ideas are good too, and we'll put WebMonkey#1.00 on it when and as we find them...

    DeV.

    Widgetize it!

Yeah, as soon as we find the right person, it'll be on the to-do list.
