There is two departures a week, costs about 100 euro in a soft sleeper ... takes two days.

Im heading to Vietnam/China myself next June, I'll be going from Hanoi to Kunming though and then travelling around china for 6 weeks, finishing up in Beijing.

Check out www.seat61.com , fantastic website for all train related travel.

    Enjoy !

    Thanks for the response.
Has anybody any experience booking domestic flights in China.
Will need to get from Kumming to Shenzhen. I am looking at elong.com and the flights are around 115 euro. I have heard that they are cheaper if you book the flight in china itself. Is this true and is it easy to book in china?
    Thanks
