Myself and the wife-to-be have decided to plan and book our honeymoon direct, so we want travel insurance in case any problems crop up with bookings, missed connections, car trouble, lost baggage, accidents, etc. The relevant facts are:
    • 2 weeks in Croatia.
    • Car rental for full 2 weeks.
    • Overnight in Dublin.
    • Aer Lingus flight from Dublin.
    • 1 night in Split.
    • 6 nights in lighthouse on Dugi otok.
    • 6 nights in hotel in Dubrovnik.
    • VHI members both.
We're interested in good cover, not budget prices. Should we go with the VHI, or would we be better off with someone else? If so, who would you recommend?

    Thanks,
    adam

I've been with VHI travel insurance for the last few years now and I find that they provide a good service. I would recommend them. It's good value too. For a couple it's €69 for the year and there are optional extras that you can buy such as snow sports and golf insurance. I think they pretty much cover everything other providers cover.

VHI's cover got a few positive comments here previously on threads from those who've dealt with them. If you're already a member, it seems like an obvious choice.
