Has anyone else bought this DVD? I did and I have to say it was a terrible purchase. All it has is basically the same documentary they showed on RTÉ a few weeks ago, and after that it was just a few minutes of clips from The Live Mike.

I have to say another blunder by RTÉ......avoid.

Cheers. I seen the ad on TV and thought to myself that is just not going to sell.

I think the stunt with Gay Byrne is just not funny, yet they show it all the time on TV. Yawn.

Although his doc on America is very good I found.

THey should have put in some of Murphy's America and Murphy's Australia - that would've been better. That programme alone was alright but not fantastic viewing..

They should have included the clip with Fran Dempsey trying to sell something at a flower market and he can't stop laughing!! :D

Does anyone know if a clip of this is anywhere online?? :)

Saw the Im Mike Murphy from RTE programme on RTE 1 a few weeks back and assumed the dvd would just be the same programme packaged. It really shows RTE scraping the bottom of the barrel by peddling dvds of their terrible, terrible programmes in the hopes of making a few more quid off them. I mean, who would possibly want to watch the clinic or podge and rodge over and over again at home?

I was tempted to buy it, but flipping it over revealed that it was only just over an hour long. €20? No thanks.

Same deal with the Hall's Pictorial DVD's, both are €20 each, although the content is good, RTE should have released both as a single volume. Poor value for money.

I bought it for myself, I remember watching it when I was a kid (baby actually haha) - haven't watched it yet.

Was looking forward to it until I read this thread :(:(

Was hugely disappointed with it till a friend told me that if you go into the "Extras" menu you can watch all the sketches shown in full, albeit without a "Play All" option. So, generally, another poorly-made RTE DVD. I got a Podge & Rodge DVD for my mum last year (it cracks her up), and again, felt like about 40 minutes of actual watching - it was CLIPS of the "best" interviews. Rubbish.

I was a big fan of this when I was younger, Still am so I decided to buy the DVD. What did I expect from it? A host of numerous clips from Candid Camera. Did I get it? No! What a complete waste of money, there was only about 20 clips on it and the rest was Murphy, Twink & Fran Dempsey talking about the experience (and ruining many clips while they did so).

Was anybody else disappointed with this?

Yeah, that extras section was ok. although, I would have imagined that the extrsa would have been the main part & the main part would have been the extras!
Also, I think of so many clips they left out that were very good. Cant DVD's hold loads of data now? It just looked such a cheap, quickly made product.
