Have lost couple stone and now am at the every pounds counts stage. i was 16 stone 5. Aiming for 13 stone or so. At present I am in and around 14 stone. my weight can fluctuate however. i can be 14 stone one morning and 14 stone four the next. Is it a dodgy scales? I know people will say just worry about bodyfat etc but its a confidence thing for me to get down actual mass also.

It depends on time of day, what you've done beforehand (ie - worked out, had dinner, watched tv!) and how hydrated/dehydrated you are...

I don't pay much attention to my actual weight, but i like to check that, in general, it seems to be going down, or at least not going up!

So, I only weigh myself at the gym - same scales all the time... even then I get different readings... I was supposedly a kilo heavier last night than I was at the same time on Monday night...

By the way - you've lost over two stone. Brilliant, well done.

4lb fluctuation sounds a bit odd - might well be dodgy scales?

always weigh myself in morning time before breakfast!on scales in gym I am 13 stone 9 pounds. In another sclaes at home I am 13 stone 7. The main scales i use is a weight watchers one which made the 14 stone 0 reading and the 14 stone 4 in space of 24 hours.

BlueIsland, don't get too caught up on small fluctuations. You are going in the right direction. Good work and keep it up.

Weighing yourself every day may drive you mad. Aim for maybe twice a week first thing in the morning, or even just every Monday morning.

possibly, more likely hydration levels. If I have eaten dinner, say 500g, I could go to the pub and drink 4 pints, 2.3kg. Now that is 2.8kg or over 6lb, extra than I was before dinner. Now the drink is dehyrdating so in the morning after "evactuating" myself, I could be 8lb difference.

You see guys on UFC talking about dropping 20lb in 2-3days to make wieght for competition.
