    I went to see this last night and was surprisingly dissapointed.
    While the movie was entertaining for the most part, it dragged in alot of other places.
    I found the plot to be patchy and none of the characters were particularly engaging, regardless of how much screen time they got.
    Eva Mendes character seemed to show promise but then she
    inexplicably dissapeared. Ok well it was obvious that she walked out on him but it was so poorly dealt with and was in general, a waste imo.

    The chief showed promise too but he was desperatly under-used and his sitiuation under-emphasised. Likewise there wasn't enough development of the brotherly conflict.
    Whatsmore, from the point that Pheonix
    joined the NYPD, everything started to go down the tube. The idea in itself was stupid I felt and like alot of the other points, it was not handled well.

    Probably better than most stuff out at the moment but make sure that if you see it, you go in with low expectations.
