Game quality on PS3

Is anyone else having problems with the varying game quality on the PS3?

Now, I've only played 4 games so far started off with COD4, tried resistance fall of man, thought the game play and graphics were crap compared to COD, lasted about 20 mins before I got bored and went back to COD.
Next tried ridge racer 7, came with the PS, again rubbish, back to COD again,
I've had Kane and Lynch for 3 weeks so I got pissed off waiting to get into multiplayer games and stuck it in, more rubbish, the gameplay and graphics are PS1/2, lasted about 10 mins with that one and i'm now sitting here impatiently trying to get into a mulitplayer game.

Am I being unjustly tough on the other games because COD4 graphics are particuluarly good or are there other games out there that can do the graphics engine on the PS3 justice?
Uncharted looks good (so did the ads for kane & lynch though) but the reviews have been pretty poor.

I'd say it's all the games you chose apart from COD4.
Playing Resistance maybe 1 year ago it probably wouldn't of felt so bad but going to it from COD4 is probably no match. I have RR7 too and it's never seen the inside of my PS3 since I got it with the console. Only reason I got it was because it was either that or Genji and that's even worse. Kane an Lynch got pretty bad reviews anyway so it probably wasn't going to live up to much.

Uncharted with pretty poor reviews? I've only seen it get 8's and 9's so I thought that's a pretty good score.
If you like multiplayer games Warhawk is pretty good. There's Assassins Creed + Rachet & Clank too.

you're blaming the ps3 for gameplay/graphics that you don't like. resistence is out a year or so, of course it's not going to be on-par with cod4, similar story with RR.

kane & lynch... well, like you said, the reviews tell all there.

I agree, unfortunately I asked for the game as a birthday present before I had read the reviews based the request on the ads on telly, which showed 'actual gameplay' from the intro video!!!!!

I only have it a month, just disappointed with the huge quality gap between the games, I can't se how resistance could have been a land mark game for th ps3 even a year ago, graphics aren't great at all, PC game graphics from a gen or 2 ago would have been better.

Anyway I was just venting cos I'm so pissed off waiting to get into COD games, I have a nipper here at home so my windows of gameplay open and close fairly quick & I spend most of it in the lobby!

Obviously MGS4 will be phenomenal but I was expecting more from the standard library of games. Going to have to learn patience in the lobby and hope they hurry with MGS and GT5:mad:

Yeah, Gamespot said it was a tomb raider ripoff with worse gameplay, said it was fine, but thats about it, assasins creed although the graphics are great gets repititive and is buggy.

Has anyone tried FarCry for the PS? Does it look like a 720p game or is it the same as the pc version?

You should play it instead of taking Gamespots word for it.

I don't think that anybody can argue against the quality of the line-up on the PS3 anymore.

By the end of next month, we'll have Uncharted, Sing Star, Call of Duty 4, Burnout Paradise, Ratchet & Clank, Haze, Unreal Tournament 3, Gran Turismo Prologue, Guitar Hero III, Rock Band, Warhawk, The Orange Box, Pro Evo 2008, Assassin's Creed and the Eye Toy.

That's on top of a back catalogue of Resistance (which I thought to be great), Motorstorm, Virtua Fighter 5, Ridge Racer 7, Folklore and so on.

We've (finally) reached the stage where there's plenty of good games across the genres, and a sready stream of quality releases.
