Last minute holiday to the sun

    Hi,
    I was wondering if anyone has literally turned up at the airport and booked a last minute cancellation to a sunny destination? How do you go about it?

    I am planning to take a week off mid January to the sun but I am pretty flexible what date I go to and where so might as well try and get a cheap last minute cancellation if I can...any comments?

    Did it literally dozens of times in Scotland when I worked offshore.

    Arrive in Aberdeen, round to the travel agent- "what have you got going out today/tonight?". Only once didn't get a cheapie, and that was in the height of summer.

    In Ireland - booked a week in Luxor at 3 days notice & payed a pittance for it.

    Thanks for those websites. I will more than likely be going by myself so looking to leave it to the very last minute before booking it to try and get a decent deal
