    This gig has been cancelled, but however if you need your Sylvan and/or Vimanas fix then come to our gigs on Thursday in Limerick (Bakers) or on Friday in Cork (Fred Zeppelins)! I know I'll be on the buckfast for at least the 2 days so its gonna be great or a catastrophy! Either way a good show!
    C'Mon, and sorry about the cancellation, couldn't get bands and possible problem with venue!

    Abam have pulled out however, so we're looking for a band to fill their space - any takers here?

    Anyway the gig will be going ahead on Sunday with slight line-up change

    Sylvan released their third album in and Vimanas released their debut EP in September 2007 . Heres some of the reviews

    MODERATE ROCK
    SYLVAN- We Are Lying To You Through Song

    [FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Ireland is only separated from the rest of the UK by one stretch of water, but try telling that to any band looking to jump the gap. Sometimes the Emerald Isle might as well be a million miles away. Dublin quartet [/FONT][FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Sylvan[/FONT][FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif] sound like they couldn't care less what holds them back though. In fact, in debut full-length 'We Are Lying To You Through Song', they have a disc that's strong, stubborn and fights like a starving dog.[/FONT]

    [FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif] Punk rock but never predictably so, Sylvan's sound slumps somewhere between Black Flag, Shellac and Nirvana, and the band, who appear to be both pissed and seriously pissed-of, work on all manner of levels. If you want something bristling and dangerous then opener 'Hobo Wars' is a killer, if you want to try and sing along then 'Monkey Is A Rat' sounds like Steve Albini messing with melody for the first time ever and if all you want to do is dance then 'Braindog' will lead you from scratchy punk to a place of pure noise.
