Qantas or Cathay Pacific?

Going to Australia and then home via Hong Kong in March/April next year. Prices for these two are about the same, have never flown with either just wondering if anyone thinks one is better than the other?

qantas is the only airline never to have crashed ever, but cathay pacific is soooo nice. personally i take cathay

Actual Qantas has had crashes, just not in the jet era

Cathay generally gets some good reviews - attentive service, good in-flight entertainment etc. Qantas can vary.
