Poweramp Problem

    Hey guys.
    My Marshall 9100 poweramp is giving out very little volume and sounds a little fizzy. What you reckon? Tubes i woud imagine!?

    Yeah, the valves are your first port of call.

    remember my tsl got busted up? ...needs new power tubes and a transistor replaced... thought id let you know.. so got a full set and rebias and replaced transistor... should have it back sometimes next week, just gota pay a good few €€ for it, =/


    but check the tubes and the transistor thingy, but dont go getin electricuted or doped up or dying or somethin

    You mean the screen resistor? When power-tubes blow, they often take the screen resistor with them, its a pretty normal failure. You should see the insides of my Boogies, they have a little cut-out on the PCB where the screen resistors are, so if they blow they won't melt/burn all over the board. Lovely little detail ;) Never seen it on any other amp.

    Pity to hear your TSL is going to cost a few quid Al.

    well its first time i spend some $$ on it in 4 years, it was a long time comin i guess!

    Its just the insides of amps is sometihn ive not messed with as of yet, so im pretty clueless wen it comes to that sort of thing
