    Howye folks,

I moved to ireland during the summer, found a band in Galway but there wasn;t really any motivation so quit a few days ago.

I'd be interested in joining a new band over here, I've played with a few bands in Belgium (parties, local battle of the bands etc) so I have a little gigging experience but they all crashed and burned eventually.

I'mostly play bass, but if needed, I could play solid enough guitar, nothing flash though.

Stuff I like:Clash, Rancid, Bad Religion, Andrew WK, traditional Irish, but I'm not really too fussy, whats far more important is that people are dedicated and have enthusiasm as I'd ideally like to move into originals.

    Hiya,

I moved to Ireland myself in July 2005 (from Leopoldsburg in Belgium) and been trying to hook up with a band (I'm a singer myself) but finding it very hard as there seem to be few bands in the West that are currently looking for new bandmembers... I'm in the north of County Clare myself.
Have you had any luck yet?

Hey, I am in a band in Galway, playing originals, looking for new members, with a serious dedication. At the moment we're in the transformation process, ie. our guitarist and keyboard player are leaving in a couple of weeks, and we really need someone to fill their shoes, we're also looking for a second singer to mix things up a bit. Our influences are pretty diverse, which usually makes it difficult to find members. They include(but are not limited to!): NIN, Tool, Radiohead, RATM, APC, Beastie Boys, Prodigy.

Would really appreciate it if anyone is interested, or knew anyone interested.

Check out www.myspace.com/piratetape to hear what we sound like.

    Hiya -

I am a gigging singer/songwriter - and I live in Galway City:-) Musically, I tend to write and sing in a lot of different styles - but generally, think a rock/pop/world meld, with a little soul & jazz thrown in for good measure. I love Americana and Trad, and obviously can do covers. :-)

My voice is smokey and full, more of a Joan Osbourne or a K.T. Tunstall voice than a Be Good Tanyas voice style (less small and sweet, more "oomph!") And I can be LOUD when needed. My training is in vocal jazz (think Ella Fitzgerald) - but I am not stuck in jazz at all. I have been involved in many projects - from jazz to punk to rock to a one-off Led Zepp tribute extravaganza! (fun!)

If you live here (in Galway City) too or have been here over the past few months, you've probably seen & heard me busking (the redheaded woman with the big voice). I make my living solely from performance and composition - and I want to form/join a band. Soon. I have my voice, and a guitar, and as soon as I see some interest, I will book a rehearsal space. I also have gear for demo recording (an m-audio/very good mic/garageband set up).

Something I have noted: Americana/Bluegrass and Blues gets gigs. Paying gigs. I can sing it very well, and I love to do so. I also write new songs in Americana/Old Timey/Blues/Bluegrass style. What would complement this is some fiddle or mandolin, bouzouki, bass or upright bass, lead guitar, pipes, harmonica, dobro, banjo, washboard, or percussion, etc. (ok, I could probably play a washboard - maybe not as well as you though? :) , & not while I play rhythm guitar:) ) If you play any of these instruments - or more that I haven't thought of - and if you are in Galway/willing to travel here to rehearse, and are interested (really!) - in forming an Americana/Bluegrass/Blues band, OR if you already have a band and need an accomplished/standout singer - please post here, or PM me.

You can hear a little of my music on my myspace - http://www.myspace.com/niceolblue
(Originals, and mostly acoustic pop/folk - but you'll hopefully get an idea of my voice)

    Thanks!

    - Niceol Blue
