New mouse for poker?

This has been touched on a few times but never really got a definitave answer..

I currently use a Microsoft 3000 notebook mouse and up to now It's been perfect for me.... Until reently I've been pains in my hand and wrist from overuse and prob playing too many hanns lol..... bloody rake races!

Anyway I'm think of Logitech G5 or G7.

The G7 is the wireless version but I cant find anyone with it in stock.

Pixmania have the G5 in stock here http://www.pixmania.com/ie/uk/756/242/xx/104/9/criteresn.html?s=756&m=242&t=xx&categorieid=9&cat=104&display=0&startrow=11&orderBy=&sortBy=&articleId=0 at 40euro + 13 delivery

and komplett also have it at 59 euro + 12 delievery

anyone any experiance of either of these or any other suggestions...? The 12/13 delievery seems to drive the price up vs bricks and mortar shop... I know a mouse is very much personal choice but there are very few places that you can go and try them to see if you like it...

Wireless vs wireless? I have a wireless and no probs...

    all suggestions appreciated

    Mac

I have G5, and it's great, but the main thing you want for poker is comfort. G5 is great for precision and reaction time. And has thumb button.

Is there a mouse you can buy where the click is silent?. People are getting annoyed hearing the clicks.

what kind of size is the G5 ... is it one your palm can rest on.. whats happening with mine is that i hold it between my fingers but my palm cnt rest on it and the centre of my hand cramps

Its fairly small tbh, I use my fingertips more than my hand.
Would a really good mouse pad work better? something with a gel cushion for your wrist?

Ive heard bad things about Pixmania, late deliveries, deliveries that never arrive, wrong deliveries etc etc, komplett are excellent and fast delivery anytime ive used them, not sure on which is the better mouse though, ive just an old school wireless mouse, does the job though!

lol yeah... one of the things I loved about my microsoft one..... pick it back up put the battery back in and away you go.....I still have a few dents in the wall from it... but I think I'm over that phase now ;)

i've gone thru a dozen wireless mice from Sony Vaoi to Logitech to Microsoft ones, this is by far the best IMO. It connects thru bluetooth and 2 AA batteries last for about 3 months of intensive use (even if u leave it on overnight)

    It never loses connection either.

has anyone experience with upright mice? I've heard good things about them and keep meaning to try one but haven't got round to it.

I have a joystick type mouse if that's what you meant.
I had to change my mouse from the traditional type of mouse as I was getting bad repetitive strain problems from it.

It takes a while to get used to it, but for anyone getting problems with their hand I'd definitely recommend it, it's much easier on the hand.

    Here's the link to it

The one problem with it in regards to poker is that while it does have a sort of scroll wheel replacement type thing on the side, it doesn't work with the AHK betpot script. Maybe someone savvy enough with ahk files might be able to edit it to work though.

The one I was thinking of is at www.evoluent.com but yeah, anything like that.

The problem with that one at evoluent as far as I can tell anyway is you still get finger displacement between your index finger and middle finger, after several years as a programmer and over the last year or so as a poker writer/player that's what was causing my RSI. Still, a nice looking mouse.

I'm currently using this. I paid about €130 for the keyboard/mouse combo. Keyboard has gone and i'm using this little baby. I'd recommend the mouse though. Cant believe its that cheap on ebay. Its perfect size, has 8 programmable buttons, never loses connection and is really comfortable to use.

what about a mouse that you could "tap tap" of the desk/table to check.

have to compliment the service I got off Komplett... I decided to go with the G5 after all... the difference I discovered after was the G5 at Komplett is the newer model with more buttons if it makes any diference..

Anyway so far so good... loads of features that are just wasted on me I'm afraid as I'll never use them but handy is the thumb button that I've programmed for my AHK autoreload.. it comes with adjustable weight cartridge which I havn't decided what suits me yet.......

anyway... just thought I'd report.... thanks for all the advice

Wow that looks horribly uncomfortable, obviously appearances are deceptive because its designed by experts to be more confortable that a traditional mouse. Maybe there should a gentle massage vibration built in
