Anybody know if a Windows mobile 6 device (Outlook) can be configured to use nuigalway email server (Microsoft server?) Computer services have not been to much help.

Are you looking to access mail via Exchange protocol or IMAP?
    Are you staff or student?
Accessing it via the wireless network or from 'outside'?

From the wireless network. Hopefully from the outside as well (Like my laptop can access it). I am staff. Oh via the Exchange protocol as im not sure the email works via IMAP?

You may wish to check if you can access/'ping' evs1.ac.nuigalway.ie from the device/a laptop on the wireless network first.
If the Outlook client in WM6 supports caching email locally (and you have enough storage) it may be worthwhile turning it on, as otherwise each time you connect, it'll have to download all your email again and again, which will make it seem slow.
Archiving old email may also help, though I forget whether the Outlook 'archive' function archives old email on the server-side or the client side.

As for external access, either use Outlook Web Access (http://staffmail.nuigalway.ie) or VPN in (when the staff policy & infrastructure is put in place, if it isn't already).

IMAP isn't offered at the moment (as far as I know), but there is a desire for it from a section of email users. It eats more cpu time compared to Exchange (on Win2003 at least afair).

If you're having trouble with the above, you should at least have some specific details and info to supply to the Hepdesk, which we can appreciate makes things go faster than an obtuse "My thing, it no work no more. Fix it now." :) Not a reference to your issue, just a general comment.
Also, if you have/receive a large volume of mail, it may not be feasible to actually use Outlook on your PDA over wireless. The OWA approach may suit better from a performance point of view.

Nice reply thanks. I dont recieve an awfull lot of mail but use the outlook function mainly for tasks and contacts which i get sent via email. I had the outlook email working on a previous WM5 device, but just having problems with the Wm6 device. Im sure its a simple setting that i dont know about. Im able to send and recieve on my laptop at home using EVS1 server no problem and also in NUI itself. Its just hassle having to Sync my WM6 device to my laptop during the day.
