Seems like a long time since S3 finished!
Only 8 eps, but I'm looking forward to them.

Very nice. With season 2 of Jericho out in February as well as this, I'll be a very happy man come February.

Question is, will ABC show one every 3 weeks just to make them last until May?

They might just show 15 minutes a week.

I really hope ABC don't read boards, they might actually be considering out ideas.

Too bad we won't get the full season. I just hope all the actors return if/when production resumes in the summer.

There all under contract, they have to return. The only people you can doubt about returning is the crew.

I'm not worried about the main cast but quite a few new actors joined the show this season, most of them only for a specific number of episodes. I don't know how these shorter contracts work but I doubt they'd still be valid after 6 months. I just don't want to see a character suddenly vanish after episode 8 because the actor wasn't available.

I'm sure most of them will return though. It's not like there's much work out there right now.

Anyway here's a little snippet from an interview with Damon and Carlton in which they discuss the start date:

“The audience just needs to be warned,” Cuse said. “There’s a very cool cliffhanger at the end of the eighth episode. But most of the major questions were designed to get answered at the second half of the season. The whole idea that we’re actually looking forward as well as looking back is something we’re very excited about as storytellers. But there is a fear that if the strike continues and we’re not able to complete the season, that people might feel a little frustrated because those eight episodes aren’t conclusive.”

I think this is important to keep in mind as chances are ABC will hype up episode 8 as the "explosive season finale", "all mysteries revealed", etc etc.

That's actually a very good point! Never thought of that.

Hopefully they will have thought of this already!

FANTASTIC! Can't wait! I'm p1ssed that its only 8 episodes. It's not the wait I'm concerned about - I'll still watch, I'm just afraid that nothing is secured...that the writers could walk, or newer actors could leave, or the thing could be cancelled altogether!

cool thats it coming at the end of jan, but that really blows that its only going to be 8 eps. is there any chance at all that if the strike stops before the end of the eight episodes that they will make the rest of them?

Tbh it would take a miracle at this stage. It'll probably be February before talks resume and maybe even March before there's a deal. Hell it could go on longer. Even if the strike were resolved tomorrow it would take about a month to restart production and the show would end up running into June. I doubt ABC would be too keen on this.

I mean the remaining 8 episodes will get made, just not this season. We'll probably get them in September as part of the 5th season or season 4b if you like.

Cool, roll on jan 31st.

I wonder what Sky/RTÉ etc will do, grab them as soon as they can or wait until there's a complete season. Should give an interesting insight to their current respective ideologies and the level of competition that exists.


(aside - that's the seond time I've made a post referencing RTÉ in the last two hours or so. I feel dirty)

Yeah, so after episode 8 airs on March 20th there'll be another hiatus until season 4b/5 starts, which will be either next September or (worse case) Jan/Feb 2009. But on the plus side it'll be a 24 episode season.

I am toying with idea of not watching these and waiting so I get a proper 16 week run at season 4.
What we think good or bad?
