Problem printing - onto wrong size paper

    Hi,

My girlfriends Grandfather has a question for you all. Apparently when he prints his photos from his HP printer he cant get them to print on the larger paper size. There are two trays - for two different sizes of paper but regardless of what he is doing or how he resizes the printer automatically keeps printing from the smaller tray.

Any ideas or suggestions? Im heading over to have a look at the set up tomorrow.

    thanks!

When I print using a HP if you specify photo quality what happens is the printer defaults to 10x15cm and the Phototray. He needs when printing to select properties and select the tray (for me that's main tray if I'm printing A4) and change the size.

My printer is a Photosmart D5160.

I have only one tray on my printer so may not be much help, but my HP allows you to specify exactly the paper type and size.... so would look at the printer settings and properties on the computer rather than the printer.
Try using smaller paper - 4x6s and see if that works...
    check the drivers...
check to see if there is a default tray for multiple trays....

    Thanks Calina,

I think he can physically put the SD card into the printer so im not sure at what end the printing problem is originating. Ill double check that tomorrow though and also try what you suggested above -thanks.

Thanks bigeoino for your reply and help. Where and what are the drivers? (im guess all of the above is located in printer settings?)

Maybe he can just remove paper from the tray with the size he doesn't want?
The printer might then print from the tray he wants.
(If all else fails, of course).

    *shrug!*
