You can pick it up for cheap on paly.com and avoid this problem. That is the route I have taken.

great movie. Watch the credits on it closely when the title card is shown. there is an old theory that the movie is a satire on christmas spirit and the title was made to suggest that the film title is "its a wonderful life?"

a few older people i know also never heard of it, i think its an absolute classic, will defo be getting up in morning to watch it, and to think it was watching and reading red dwarf that introduced it to me,

if any of you are unaware of its part/relavence in the programe/book, its the main characters (lister, played by craig charles) favourite film of all time.

Is that for definite? I saw weeks ago that it was due to be re-released in Cineworld from Dec 14th, but it's not in the schedule for any day over the next day. I checked entertainment.ie but the only place it seems to be on is the IMC in Dún Laoghaire.

This is one of my favourite films of all time (<3 Jimmy Steward) so really want to see it on the big screen, so really hope you're right!

It's weird. It's not up on the schedule for the 19th or the 20th (the timetable for any date after that isn't up yet). I can't find any mention of it on the Cineworld site but I'm almost certain that it was in the Coming Soon section up until a couple of days ago. My sister's boyfriend works in Cineworld but he hasn't heard about it.

    It's a Christmas mystery...

Don't think I've ever seen this.

Did they do a remake of this with Bill Murray?

There's an idea. Tho I'd wager you're thinking of "Scrooged" which is based on A Christmas Carol.

I don't think that it did too well upon its release in 1946 and in subsequent years. Apparently It's a Wonderful Life was rejuvenated by being shown on TV in the States in the 70s and it became the huge Christmas movie that it is because of TV exposure. Check out wiki for more:

I went to see it tonight for the first time in the IMC in Dun Laoghaire. It was so great! For years I've been meaning to check it out on TV but I never got around to it. I was so happy that I was able to see it for the first time on the big screen. Now I shall have to watch it every single Christmas.:)

Thats right actually. I remember seeing it in our film schedule. It's being re-released.

I remember watching a documentary about it and it mentioned the shrinks in America actually use it as part of their therapy-sessions.

Boo, the coming week's schedule for Cineworld has gone up on the site and there's no sign of It's a Wonderful Life anywhere.

I was so looking forward to this... :(
