Skews in European Crash Statistics

Just a few points. Please critique all of those.

    1. The statistics are based on deaths/crashes per population. Due to a **** public transport system, Ireland has the highest ownership rate of cars in Europe. The statistics would show a lower rate for Ireland compared to other countries if the stats showed deaths/crashes per car registered in Ireland.

    2. Ireland has a high rural population, compared to countries like the UK which are very urbanised. Urbanised countries result in more car journies being intra urban journies. Ie: Journies driving at 50 kph. On the other hand, with the countires being fairly urbanised, a lot of inter-urban journies will be on motorways. In ireland, percentage wise, people must drive more on country roads which are inherintly more dangerous. This is due to the fact of people not living close to motorways or not having a motorway which will cater for where they need to go.
