Power supply for effects pedals

    When using an adaptor instead of batteries for Boss effects pedals does it have to be a Boss adaptor or can you use any old ac adaptor as long as it has the same specs as the Boss one?

    Maplins have a regulated ACDC adapter (Cat num: MG80B) which works fine :).
