Printing onto 'board'...

We've had a few pictures of kids/family printed onto board a few years ago through a local photographer with a costly portrait session  With an appropriate image nicely wrapped around the edges (1/4 inch thick kinda stuff), the board print looks great. I've done the canvas print thing already (will do so again too) and in a quest to maybe try something new I'm just wondering if anyone is aware of a local service or an on line site that will do this for you with one of your own photographs? Any experiences to share folks?

am i right in saying what you mean is the picture is laminated to a piece of timber, like mdf

if so, its called cold press lamination

there are companies around that can do it, i believe conns was actually getting a machine, dont know if they did

last time i had them done, i think the company was called woodcraft

Very good - there are lots of google results to be checked out - many of which are selling laminating equipment - but i'll dig deep in my research.

I have got this type of work done, up to 40*30 by www.peak-imaging.co.uk.
They are quite pricey, but the standard of the work is superb. You have a choice of board (MDF, Foam etc) and also a choice of laminate if required.

Would be interested if there are any local suppliers.
