    Hi all,

I have Photoshop CS3 on my laptop but I don't have an iota how to use it.

I'm only just getting into the photography scene. I bought a Nikon D80 recently and have no experience of post-processing.

Is there any online tutorials I could use to get a handle on the Photoshop basics?

    Try the Adobe Tutorial site.

Care to share how you acquired CS3 on your laptop in the first place?

Download the trial version, buy a license for the full version, add license info to trial version .... and there you go ... a working full version on your laptop.

If it's in any way illegal, I don't want to know about it on here :);)

guys ye are going way off topic here ...

As was said ... the trial lasts for 30 days ... buying the license makes it last indefinitely

If you've a few quid to spend and some time ... I'd recommend signing up for a month of Lynda ... http://www.lynda.com/ video tutorials ... though that wikivid site may offer similar (didn't check the link)

I would suggest setting out what exactly it is you want to achieve in PS first. No point in just importing an image and playing around with it - you won't really learn any processes that way.

Instead, once you have decided what kind of PP effects you think would benefit a particular image, search for a tutorial that shows you how to achieve that effect, or post here even.

    My 2 cent anyway. :)

Actually way better advice than I gave .... pretty much how I learned ... wanted to make a button for a webpage .. tried figuring it out and searching for tutorials ...

http://phong.com/tutorials/ was one site I used use a lot

    Hi all,

    Thanks for all your replies.

As to where I got CS3....I bought it from multimedia.ie, I don't know what that has to do with anything but there you go

    I'll try those tutorials.

I've seen images (on this forum and others) that have been tweaked with Photoshop and was amazed! I want to be able to achieve something similar :)

Search the digital darkroom forum, there's a few helpful bits and pieces there. :)

Don't worry about people asking how you bought it.

If you see anything here that you like, don't be afraid to ask - If not on thread, give a PM :)
