UT3 is good; haven't given it much time.

    Prolly GTA4 on pc whenever.

Anything else on that list is 'meh', I'll see when the time comes.

Resident Evil 5 needs to be much higher on that list (could end up 2009 though).
    Also, No More Heroes!

Devil May Cry 4 looks the absolute dogs nadgers, can't wait for that game. I've been itching to play through DMC 3 again when I saw the short trailer. Looks way better than Ninja Gaiden 2.

Resident Evil 5 definitely deserves to be higher up. Resi 4 was such a stunningly brillaint game from start to finish. More please.

Knowing Blizzard we won't being seeing Starcraft 2 for a few delays yet but I'm sure it's worth the wait.

Also Lost Odyssey and White Knight Story look like games that will satisfy me since Square-enix and the FF franchise went down the ****ter.

Prototype looks interesting and Smash Bros. is going to be a great party game.

I definitely dont agree with that, Ninja Gaiden (imo) always pissed on any of the DMC games I played (1 and 2) - Its just a better game as far as im concerned, each to their own though!

    For me :

    GTA4
    Resi 5
    Ninja Gaiden 2
    Mario Kart Wii
    Indiana Jones
    Soul Caliber
    Alan Wake
    Fable 2

GTA IV, GT5, MGS4, LBP, Spore and Burnout would be the must buys I can see on that list, all pretty obvious choices really.

Saint's Row 2 could be great as the first one was by far the best a GTA clone has ever been and I'm interested in seeing how they build on it. Fallout 3 might be a must buy, it depends on what Bethesda do with the series really. And Infamous is another game from that list that looks very interesting, though there's really not enough known about it at the mo.

Fallout 3, Spore and one that's not on the list, Empire: Total War

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 16,339 ✭✭✭✭tman

Burnout Paradise, Ninja Gaiden 2, GTA IV, Resi 5

Alan Wake and No more heroes are the 2 original IPs that I'm looking forward to, everything else seems to be a sequel...

    This <3

Although the apparent censoring might turn off some people. Still going to be an awesome game regardless.

The top 3 in that list are well deserving, Fallout 3 should be super-great.

I will be happy if I can play these next year:
    Metal Gear Solid 4

You really should have played DMC 3 then. It was an absolutely massive improvement on DMC 1 (DMC 2 never happened, what a load of arse that game was). It's arguably better than Ninja Gaiden. Also from the last videos of both games DMC 4 looks like a much better game.

DMC3 was ridiculously hard, one of the few games i'd every complain about that as well. Even on normal it was too tough.

On easy mode or with Easy auto on it was very manageable, much more so than Ninja Gaiden. Normal mode was really only for veterans of DMC1. Also you can go back to replay levels to level up a bit and buy new weapons so it was never impossible (which it certainly wasn't). Anyway playing it on anything less than normal would be spoiling the game imo, I enjoyed playing a game that gave a decent challenge like the old 16-bit games.

Have to admit that the first boss Cerberus was way too tough and was a real baptism of fire. Definitely the toughest boss in the game other than the last boss. After him the game was no problem to me.

    Probably most intrigued with Spore

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,263 ✭✭✭Varkov

    FFXIII
    Burnout Paradise
    Soul Calibur 4
    GTA 4

    left4dead
    mario kart wii

Resident evil 5 is due in 2009 no?

They haven't announced a specific time frame yet, as such. Takeuchi said 2008, maybe 2009, more likely to be the latter unfortunately.

Still, maybe we'll get a demo next year!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,216 ✭✭✭Kur4mA

PROTOTYPE!!! I absolutely cannot wait for this. Also, GTAIV, Spore and Alan Wake.

Anyone think 2008 is going to match or beat 2007 for games?

Forgot about Persona 3. It got rave reviews in the states and is supposed to be something rather special.

Retro are you gonna get wild arms 5?

  • Moderators, Category Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 52,407 CMod ✭✭✭✭Retr0gamer

Depends on the reviews. They'd have to be very good before I get it. Wild Arms 1 and 2 are meant to be good but the series has gone down hill since. Haven't much of an interest in the series really.

Just checked there and the reviews seem okay and it's very cheap, might check it out.

Which (as I already pointed out) doesn't actually have any MMO's, unless you count Little Big Planet which is more of a Second LIfe/3d Social Networking type thing.

Aye, I don't play console games and I'm not into any of the kind of games on the list in the first post. Should have read the first post before posting at all but tbh I didn't think it would matter in this thread.

    *snip*

About four or five from that list at most, Resident Evil 5, Mario Kart Wii & Smash Bros Brawl, Starcraft 2, left 4 dead and...erm...spore. Thats about it. If the others never got released it'd be fine with me.

Although i'm only looking forward to spore because the entire internet will implode when this game is released and the hype around it will give way to what'll probably be an ambitious but flawed game.
The amount of bitching will probably be one of the best things about it.

I await the flamefests, pop-corn in hand :)

I agree. Spore is shaping up to be the next Black & White.
