hi all, my band and i are trying to get gigs outside dublin to promote the band in all counties. we are a 4 piece original band playing kinda bluesy rock. if anyone could suggest venues/promoters outside dublin that might be able to help us it would be greatly appriciated.

    Hi Sean,

It's tough enough to get original music out there - unless you wanna play for free that is!

    Try these -
    Spirit Store - Dundalk
    The Venue - Drogheda
    Cypress Avenue - Cork
    Cuba/Roisin Dubh - Galway

I know man... The ar*e has fallen outa the live music scene in this country in the last few years. There are some decent people left in the business but unfortunately not enough...

I've gigged round the country with a couple of bands (covers/tributes) and gigs are so variable. I'd suggest looking on Irish bands sites to see where they are gigging round the country. Also you can see where the bigger acts are playing and see if they do up-n-coming nights. Problem there is they usually happen midweek and you'll have to travel...

Quality promo material is also a must and don't rely on just sending presspacks. You'll need to talk your way in the door!!

    Are you guys workin men?
