This serial is also unlimited as far as I know. To get the latest version just enter the serial you've gotten.

I still use the serial I got with their tenth anniverseary edition.

You can easily unselect the 'yahoo toolbar' option while installing.

yes i think so. without divx pro if you are encoding with VirtualDub you would not be able to encode using the DivX codec at high bitrates. you could of course just use the equally good and open source xvid codec instead tho!

Thanks for the info, is anything that would be compatible with DIVX, also be compatible with XVID though or would more things be compatible with DIVX? I know I've heard DIVX mentioned a lot more so I'm guessing DIVX would be more popular with manufacturers of electronics to get their product to playback?

DivX and XVID and both MPEG-4 implementations. It's like two different builders building two houses from the same blueprint. In theory, they should be the identical. In reality, well, they're close enough.

This is weird, having the installation twice to register my email address - I'm still not getting the serial code in my email. . I'm sure my internet connection was working while installing the program.

Note that if you use a proxy server for internet access the installer may not be able to connect to send your email address - I had to disable the proxy settings in Internet Explorer to get it to work. Got my serial number shortly after that.

Is that just to get functionality within DivX Converter? Just wondering will it work with external programs like AutoGK and the like?
If not then what functionality does this give above the normal free codec???

Edit: Got the email straight away, ironically i got an upgrade for the divx web player earlier on today & it installed it again now! maybe to make sure i didnt have it already?
