why why why what was wrong with molex
    It was too square....
In fairness those new power connectors are around as long as SATA drives so it's not really new...

I've never seen one before, my other drive is SATA and it uses Molex, at least if it's been around for a long time I should be able to get a converter in town tomorrow, thank heavens for small mercies :)

You can get the converter very easily ,takes a regular molex and converts it to the new sata form, try maplin or Petes on parnell st. (I'm assuming Dublin local!)

If you look at your existing SATA drive you'll probably see that it has both the molex connector and a SATA power connector. Newer drives are phasing out the molex connector because well, that's old hat :p Any power supply from the last few years except for maybe the most bargain basement rubbish should have SATA power cables.

well i picked one up in Maplins, thanks for the tip majiktripp, but I still think it's stupid and pointless, seriously what amazing tricks has this new power connector got besides just being a different shape
