Just thought I'd let everyone know that I have found that it is cheaper to buy your Christmas dvd's from HMV online rather than the HMV shops in Dublin.

I wanted to buy the new Billy Connelly dvd which is €24.99 in HMV in Dublin but it's only £12.99 (€18.03) online.

The Two Ronnies Christmas Special DVD is £16.99 online(€23.58) but €36.99 in HMV in Dublin.

Lastly the other DVD I bought is the Morecambe and Wise dvd which is £22.99(€31.91) but was €44.99 in the shop.

So even with the exchange rates not being too favourable I saved money by not buying Irish.

The online thing didn't give a per item rate, just said £6.00 total.

    Sorry for the confusion.

The exchange rates are favourable at the moment, Euro is high against sterling and the dollar.

He possibly did byte but he has stated:

which is completely misleading. HMV charge per item and not a £6 total postage as the OP has stated.

It may have been £6 for his order of 3 DVDs but just so as others know it is charged per item.

As I said, the postage wasn't listed per item. It just stated that the postage for the order was £6.00.

Has anyone bought anything "big" like an xbox or ps3 from HMV uk ? Does the 2 pound delivery charge apply to items like that. (It looks like it does to me)?

Dont know what the position is but the following is copied from their web site which should help:

If you wish to find out the delivery costs for a specific order, you may wish to place all the required items into your Shopping Bag and proceed to the Checkout page.

There is no obligation to buy at this point, but you can glance at the shipping costs by the various shipping methods. If you wish to go ahead with the purchase, you may then submit your order

Was someone looking for prices on delivery (per item) you can find it in Terms & Conditions at the bottom of page & go into either International Shoppers/Shipping Info ->
We are happy to offer our products to international customers. Below are details that you will find useful when placing orders to be shipped outside of the UK.

Standard Airmail:You will be charged a shipping cost for each item placed on your order - Europe £2, Rest Of The World £4.20. Upon entering the shipping country, deliveries will enter the postal system of the country concerned. It is our experience that goods delivered using this method arrive within 5-7 days of despatch for European destinations, and within 7-10 days of despatch for the Rest Of The World.
