Anybody seen any ? I am thinking of the dry lining situation , where when the floor cavity is insulated , the poor old joist end is in direct contact with the cold blockwork .

    "Schok" don't do one ....

    Hi Sinner -

I'm presumming there's insulation in the cavity that will eleviate the bridging a bit - I wouldn't be cocerned too much to the upper surface as the depth of the timber joist should bring the f value of the floor surface above the 0.75 critical level - if there's exposed metal joist hanger to the ceiling side - this could cause a problem - depending on positioning of wall insulation - if there's a clear path, you will have to insulate to the under side of the joists (Only similar detail I've seen detailed 30mm on insulation @ 0.023 lambda value - Kingspan/Xtratherm type)

The world has gone crazy - insulated joist hangers

What next - get rid of the letter box and get Santa to deliver the mail down the chimneys - then again that wouldnt work as there would probably be a big balloon stuck in the flue.

and, under the new Regs and airtightness, Santa's main route of entry is being phased out.

You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

I take it that was extracted from the minutes of An Post's board of directors meeting when they were discussing the rural postal deliveries ;)
