Found the link on dpreview: http://www.robgalbraith.com/bins/multi_page.asp?cid=7-8740-9068-9168 seems like Rob finds it a big improvement - good news for those who own the Mark III :) I remember someone saying that they had a 1D MIII and planned to use it in Africa without the mirror fix...it may be worthwhile to get it…

seems like Rob finds it a big improvement - good news for those who own the Mark III

I remember someone saying that they had a 1D MIII and planned to use it in Africa without the mirror fix...it may be worthwhile to get it done if at all possible (or at least install the new firmware).

I got a blue dot one about two weeks ago and put the latest firmware in and the autofocus is fantastic at tracking. I use a lot of AI Servo in low light and this thing when I set the custom functions right just tracked and tracked all day long. I had a long read of his views but I didnt have a 1dmk2n so I can only base it on a 40d.
