    Hey Guys,

I'm just finishing my PhD at the moment and have been offered a 1.5-3yr contract earning about 40,000 a year starting off.

I want to buy a house in the very near future (keeping an eye on the property market)

Would the fact that its a 1.5-3yr contract be a problem?

Can I get a mortgage in my first year of employment? I have some money saved.

How much could I expect to borrow, and how much of a deposit would I need to save?

    Thanks,
    M

those questions would be best answered by an independant mortgage broker. i'd suggest you contact one they usually will have a no obligation chat with you about your options no bother at all.
