Either sky or BBC said straight out that he tested positive for cocaine, then when I caught the rte news they said he tested positive for a banned substance which puts a different slant on the story, why would they do this?

There is an interview on Pat Kenny now and its very soft peddle. Someone is busy justifying not banning Fallon for cocaine (if he took it) cos it was'nt performance enhancing or some such bull****.

That’s a bit rich given that athletes have been banned for taking the wrong type of antibiotic. These guys are paid enough money to play the game, if they have a self destructive streak then that can’t be helped.

For some reason controversy seems to follow Fallon around.

    I wonder why:cool:

Apparently, the cocaine wasn't metabolised; ie. it hadn't passed through his system. This would indicate some kind of skullduggery going on.

Maybe the journalists told the editor that if they had to say the word cocaine one more time before new year their head would explode from repetitive strain.

Dont gamble and so dont really follow the horses, but the amount of bull you can get away with in the sport is unreal. Fallon has dived off horses mid race, been in court for race fixing, failed numerous drug tests and yet every time he seems to get slapped with bans of a few weeks. If it were any other sport he would hve been banned for life years ago.

Having said that apart from the coke iirc he tested positive for a performance enhancer. How does a jockey need a performance enhancer anyway? The only drug i can think that would affect their performance would be weight loss drugs.

It hasn't been confirmed as cocaine thus RTE not reporting it as cocaine. If you read alot of copy on the story it's coming from the same Press Association source which says the substance is believed to be coke.
