Just thought I'd highlight this article to all the C64 fans here (myself included).

25 years eh? :) Some great old C64 advert images in the article. I only got mine in about 1988/89 so I remember looking at the ads in awe and trying to persuade my Mam that it was a great educational tool and worth buying for that alone. I don't think she believed me. :D

Nice find! I too used the 'educational' argument, but when I think back about it all, it was definitely true. I learned how to solder, how to code, how to fix my printer, my disk drive, my joysticks (Damn waggling games like Commando would fry the left/right microswitches in them), and learned to socialise with other C64 owners too when we would meet up and swap disks.

I also learned about phreaking, and the whole BBS scene which kept me busy for a few months :)

*Sniff I've a real soft spot for the c64. So many hours spent gaming before it was replaced by my Amiga. I actually completed the last ninja all those years ago. I seriously doubt I'd have the patience to do it now a days!

Ah what a great find, I will always hold fond memories of the C64. I remember getting the world cup pack all those years ago. I got ATV, Adidas Football, and volleyball. I had only a black a white tv at the time, trying to playfootball on that was some laugh I can tell you....

Nice one! Yep, I still feel at home with the old thing. I finished Zoids, Impossible Mission and the Sentinel last February. Must pick a new commie game. Actually... Jumpman - must get back to that :)

I can echo the black and white tv - my neighbour made a copy of Cauldron - and damn it - I couldnt make out the red from the purple key.
