It works the very same. Got my Sky+ box last August, bought a SLX amplifier for the attic and 3 magic eye's for the TV's. It's working fantastically well so far.

    Thanks for that

Hi Paddy, does this mean you have just the sky+ box connected to the dish and to one tv.
And the rest of the tv`s are connected to the aerial via the sockets beside them, which all lead to the attic.
And then you just add an SLX amplifier to the connections in the attic and magic eyes to the tvs below?
    No other wiring or equipment?

    Yep, pretty much.
2 cables come in from the dish to the back of the Sky+ box. Then i have a cable coming from RTE/TV3 aerial and going down to the Sky+ box also. I then brought a cable from RF2 Out - going up to the attic (bringing Sky and RTE/TV3 signal) and plugging into the SLX Amp. The rest of the cables (for other rooms) are also plugged into the SLX amp and picking up the signal from there.

The eye's are then plugged in to the cable before putting into the back of the TV.

Any decent electrical shop should have one, or equivalent. Similar amps are made by Triax, Global Communications, and possibly others.

Just make sure when buying that it is compatible with Sky "eyes".

I got my Sky+ box last week and wanted to put the unit in a cabinet, so got a Triax Sky Eye and positioned the IR receiver under the TV - nice and tidy :)

I now have an erratic problem where the Sky+ remote doesn't function properly

    - down button doesn't work, but up button does
    - 1 button doesn't work but 2 does
    - select button and most other buttons work

The Remote isn't in TV mode, because I've pressed the SKY button.

The strange thing is that the erratic behaviour goes away after 10 mins or so. I can also get all functions to work by opening the cabinet and using the remote with the Sky+ box. So it's just the 'eye'

    Any ideas?

This is usually a symptom of interference from the TV. Used fully-screened cable to connect the "eye" and keep cable and "eye" well away from the TV set.
