Great value for 'Brick' - paid a tenner for this in HMV a month or so back. Much recommended!

How is the cdwow delivery times of late ? I dont want to order anything from them just yet considering the farce they turned into some months ago

Are they back to their dependable best for delivery and dispatch of items ?

    cheers

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,632 ✭✭✭✭okidoki987

Not sure abut cd's, dvd's but complete and utter rip off for Wii games.
Big Brain Academy €42.99 but €29.99 in most shops in Dublin
    Remote €51.99 but €45 in Smyth's
Nunchuck €31.99 but €24.99 in most shops in dublin.
    etc etc

I bought DVD's about a month ago and got them in 3 weeks.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,352 ✭✭✭Phibsboro

Just to second the issue re deliveries, I ordered Harry Potter 2 Disc edition in November, no sign after about 10 days. Sent an email and once they had re-confirmed my address they sent a new one out immediately. Fingers crossed for this one...

An item I ordered took 3 weeks to arrive, doubt I'll bother using them again regardless of the offers they have on.

Their too risky if your buying as Christmas presents now as you dont know if its in stock and your card is charged straight away

The site is secure though (dont know why the lock doesnt appear though), another thread covers all that, paynova are safe

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,534 ✭✭✭Dman001

Ah man. I ordered a DVD for Christmas on Saturday night from them.

Although I did edit the link to get that, there doesn't seem to be a link on the actual website, which is strange. The games do come up if you search too.

That "sale" is just the "bargain basement" section of the site repackaged.

Clever tho' - they nearly made me buy stuff! That clock counting down nearly makes you wanna click on things just out of panic ;)

Oh and they better get the stuff I ordered off them to me soon or I'll be running amuck. I always thought they had a great rep but I believe Play.com is better?

Yes if you e-mail their customer service and ask them to cancel your order, they will refund you . I had to do this when i waited 2 months for an order.
They are quick enough to refund the money to your card.

I told them 7 days wassn't acceptable, and they refunded immediately, in fairness to them. They did day that they are investigating this "area" as there are a lot of problems with stuff going missing?

Their Nunchucks were only E20.99 when I bought them.Ouch just saw they have gone up to 31.99. Mind you Play.com did the same - Transformers DVD was E20.49 - Its 23.99 now.

Wouldn't you know it? One just arrived on my doorstep.....If they think I'm sending it back and buying another at the new price they can sod off:D

Probably not because I ordered something Saturday night and it still has not shipped out.

I ordered a few things recently and they've taken about 7-9 working days, at this point there would be time to get it if they sent it straight away but even a small delay would mean it's too late

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,352 ✭✭✭Phibsboro

Just to say that the re-shipped dvd arrived today, within the advertised 7 days. Though I take the previous posters point - these delays/disappearances do create a doubt in your mind as to whether you will get the goods within a week or not...

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 151 ✭✭Steve J

I'd say you would be safe ordering today / tomorrow. I wouldn't order anything from the 16th onwards on any website just in case.

And, of course, the other one turned up today.......

And they just re-charged my card with the right amount, of 20.99 per nunchuck - I pointed out to them that it was scandalous to increase their prices by 50% on said item, while I was at it.

Last day for Irish packets is actually 19th so for example my site (see sig) is taking orders until midnight on the 18th...

With their usual "we are having difficulty in obtaining stock from our suppliers" garbage that would be Xmas 2008 they are referring to.
