Any decent large pub with some talk space?

    Hey Guys,

Any recommendations on a Dublin south side pub for a few drinks and a quiet chat? ie, I have a few friends coming over and we want to hear ourselves talk? Messier's Maguires would be a bit hectic for us on a busy Thursday night.

If you can make it across the Liffey I would recommend Keatings near Jervis St shopping centre..plenty of space and much nicer than Messrs!

I agree. Good pub and free into the dishco downstairs if you fancy something more lively later.

O'Neill's on Pearse Street is another good pub, only a few minutes walk from Messrs. Maguires.

Do Keatings or O'Neils serve pub food? I'll check them out but just wondered if ye did eat in there some time.

The Pearse Street O'Neills were doing pizzas the night I was there a couple of weeks ago. Don't know if that was a one off or if they do other food.

Keatings did finger food for us. There's a restaurant there too.

If Keatings is the converted church with the big glass thing outside, yeah, it's very good. They do bar food upstairs and there is a restaurent downstairs.

Perfect spot and only 5 minutes walk from Temple Bar if you fancy going mad later on.

That's the place alright. I think the name is changing to 'the Church' actually
