Which of our lovely Irish retailers could get this bad boy in stock?

Preferably in black. Man this thing looks the business. I've been looking into kitting out my M15a4, but I'd much rather this beaut. The review gives nothing but praises!

Edit, just checked VFC's website... not till this summer :(

Why are there always so many problems with arnies links. The amount of times I've got that page....

I love those SCARs, but a lot of people don't seem to like them?

I hadn't really looked at them much before, but this particular one looks the business. I'd want the standard over the delux, unless it wasn't a huge difference in price. Still, it's a nice piece of kit.

eirsoft.ie had them. I played with one down at HRTA. It's a beaut and can be set up in CQB short barrel or long barrel battle rifle configuration.

How easy is it to change the barrel configurations? Could you do it in the field?

No it's not like slipping out one barrel and lashing on the other.

There are two lengths of inner barrel that require you to strip the gun right down and remove the hop up unit from the barrel and install it on the other barrel. Then the outer barrel is simpler. You just screw off the barrel and screw back on the flash hider where the barrel was mounted.

That was the only gripe the reviewer had. Though if you were able to purchase a second hop up unit, then you could just have both ready to go whenever. Do you know how much Tony had them for?

love the look of it, id get one of them just on how it looks. i dont know much about the scar but i looks like its based on the M4/M16 kinda guns, does that mean it uses M4 mags?
even the box on that one is cool.,

I'm suprised noboady has talked about them till now. Shive has had then for a month at least, I would have got only I just spent €600 on a sniper rifle plus extras and two Glocks:o. Being the time of year it is and all.

The VFC SCAR even strip like the real steal and all.

The G&G Scar is a nice piece of kit too, if you're into the SCAR. Personally I think they're naff-looking :)

Yeah, it's replacing M15a4's and the M16's for most SOCOM units. (So says your man on the review). I hadn't really looked at them much till the review, but either way it looks like a very hight quality piece of airsoft kit. It's M4 Mag compatible. That Sniper Varient looks hawt too. I'll agree that the stock looks a bit off, but it's practical. I'll be taking one off Tony after Christmas, just not sure should I go with the tan or the black.

Wouldn't mind that Eotech sight. Saw a clone version online for about 70 delivered, anyone know if it's any good? And what 203 would fit this?

    em WHAT?!?!?!?!?!

on second thoughts i don't wanna know!

i think SCARS are a good looking piece of kit although shiva had a point some of them look quite dodgey

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,452 ✭✭✭thehomeofDob

Actually, a SCAR/ACOG/M203 would go down quite well!

    I didnt say that.

I said they look naff...ALL of them :)
Not the quality of the finish on the airsoft versions, but the actual design of the rifle. Its ugly.
But it is an FN, I suppose :D

    They started with an M4.

Nothing good ever comes from doing that. - Well except if you're H&K of course:D

I think ill get one after christmas myself, i have a tan M4 now so i think id go for the black SCAR but would probably take tan any other time. just wondering though, seeing as its based on the M15s or whatever, is it not an armalite? im just asking because its not in the armalites section on eirsoft.,

No, it's made by FN (Fabrique Nationale Herstal).

I would go for a G36, but friends and family are all getting those. Hmmm... dunno will I be able to last till after Christmas. I think I can forgo food for a month.

I have the g36 already, I got it in the begining because the M4 was so common and i wanted something different. Ive only seen 1 scar at HRTA, maybe 2 or 3 G36c's and enough M4s to overthrow a small country.,:D
So i think the scar is for me. i have my eye on a few pistols aswell though, this hobby is going to have me bankrupt.,

It's an M4 with all of the naff bits taken out. Basically that leaves the pistol grip.
    Oh, and the mag.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,452 ✭✭✭thehomeofDob

I like Mag compatibilty though. I have an M4, which I will upgrade eventually. I don't mind Armalites though. :)

Just need the SCAR-H on the market now, hopefully they will keep the ability to use AK-47 mags like the real steel. Some sort of mag well adapter should do the trick.
