It's been getting a lot of good reviews and they say its better than the album 'i'. What's your favourite Magnetic Fields song? Mine's 'Strange Powers'. I love their quirky lyrics!

'strange powers' is brilliant.. was used in the soundrack to a film the name of which escapes me now.. the album it's taken from 'holiday' is great, my fav MF album is 'get lost'.. i didn't like 'i' that much and even 69 love songs only had 6 or 9 tracks i actually really like.. so i'm a bit cautious about 'distortion'.. oh can i HIGHLY recommend the 6ths 'wasps' nests' if u can find it, it's one of merritt's side-project albums and is utterly amazing.. guests vocalists include lou barlow of sebadoh, georgia hubley of yo la tengo, dean wareham of luna, mitch easter of let's active..etc. not one weak track in there.. could be the best pop music album ever.. !..

Thanks for that! A friend of mine made me a Magnetics Field CD (from all of their albums) and then I got 69 love songs and i. The songs I like, I REALLY like but I'm not a huge fan of the entire album. It's nice to get some other recommendations.
