Sorry, I know I'm gone a bit paranormal mad today, posted in here a few times in the past and just been keeping an eye since but hey, slow day! :p

Anyway, I know's there's been threads about this before but wondering if anyone has had experience of this without going to a regressionist (is that even a word?) I've read of some people's experiences, after going to people, having strange vision kinda things etc.

When I was about 13 I went to France for the first time with my parents and we spent a week travelling around Normandy, all the war beaches and villages we could fit in! Anyway, we were driving down a little road into a village that had been pretty much destroyed by the war but had been rebuilt to some extent, bullet holes were still in the walls, some machinery pieces on the sides of the roads and stuff. It was inland of the Omaha Beach too btw iirc!

So as were driving in, I started to feel strange, very familiar to the area, like I was going back to a second home or something. As we were getting right into the village square I started feeling fuzzy so to speak, looking out the car window I started seeing the tank-ey truck-ey things driving into the village over debris. Buildings half torn down. Soliders running around. I could also hear it all, hear the gunfire, the explosions, the crushing of rubble, the shouting, and I could smell fire and stone as well. Where my parents were saying "wow, you can still see bullet holes in the wall" I was sitting in the back, seeing it all happen in front of me.

Atop of all this, I could see myself as a reasonably young woman, 20s/30s, wearing a brown sack like peasant dress, sorry I know this description is bad but I can't think of the name of the material! To further all this, when we stopped to wander around the village, the plaques that we read descirbed near dead on what I had seen...

Sorry if this sounds like a load of balls, but just wanna know if anyone's experienced summit similar, I've not yet found anyone that has, let alone people that believe me and I remember it all as clearly as if it was yesterday....

This happened to me once but maybe on a lesser scale. I was in the woods and I could see a battle going on (short version) I cannot competely explain what was going on but the closest would be watching or tuning into a recording of the event.......... for me it wasn't a memory so this is why I feel it was a recording.........

Hi Le Rack. Your experience could be explained in a few ways.

First, you could be picking up on echoes of the place, a residue, if you like, of what has gone on there. Sensitive people often do this, especially kids as they are so open. Its intense, but really nothing more than watching a paranormal film reel. Its not harmful or invasive, even though you may feel emotional.

It could have been a past life memory, but I dont know much about that, and the recent guy who posted here with experience has been banned...

Or there is a thing called collective conciousness where we are supposed to hold all the worlds memory and experience within us, and it can come out at times like you mention. I hope someone else can elaborate.

Or you could have been picking up something from spirit, that they wanted to show you to illustrate what went on, which would be similar to the above, but if you can get more detailed information, and question whats happening (if you have a mind to :))

Or your mind could have been immersed in the place and your imagination created what you saw purely by suggestion. Theres always that sceptical option.;)

I've had a different experience. During a meditation I was shown some 'past-life' images and given a distinct name of a place that I 'knew' but hadn't got a clue where it was.
Fast forward two years later and I am on the metro line in Brussels and I see that one station has the exact same name, spelled in the very same distinctive way. I know that I have had at least one past life and it was there. I got out of the metro station as I was so compelled to but the place didn't look familiar at all. I am pretty sure from the information I received during the meditation that I had lived there about 200 years ago so I'm not too surprised I didn't recognise anything.

BUT to this day when I am in Brussels I feel at home more than any other place in the world. I just got back from a 5 day trip and the night before coming home I was furious that I had to leave! lol

Hope this might help a bit.

I don't have a lot to contribute right now, but what you said in your post reminds me of a timeslip, although I can't elaborate at the moment, because my memory has decided to fail me... although that said, I've had a lot on my mind lately...

I'll look into digging up some info on them later on when I'm not so "out of it".

Thanks guys, all wicked interesting, had heard about timeslips on tv but never anything solid about them...

Aisling&M I've had other similar "at homey" feelings in places, and instances of major deja vu in places I've never been before...all very odd..

sounds like sumting along the lines of the way a residual haunting ocurs, with the right setting and conditions it could of been a play back, but for some reason it only affected you!
