hey guys, looking to buy a new game for my laptop, one of the system requiements is for XP Processor 1.7 GHz Intel CPU or faster, AMD XP 2100+ or faster, for vista, which i run is 2.4 GHz processor or equivalent and 1 GB RAM.

my system is intel core duo 1.87 GHz, does duo mean x2 meaning i would have 2.6GHz, or is my processor still unsuitable for the above requiements

CPU is fine, what about your GPU? They're often a problem on laptops.
    What game is it?

system requiements are NVIDIA GeForce 6800 or greater, ATI Radeon X600 or greater.

mines NVIDIA GeForce 7200, altough on the specs for the game it does mention laptop chipsets may work but not supported

was thinking of buying the lastest sim city title, simcity socities

Should be fine. Its not like its a killer game like Crysis you'd need a supercomputer to run.

It'll probably work but you won't get great framerates. I reckon a 6800 would beat the pants off a 7200.

A desktop 6800 is infinitely faster then a Go7200. If the game genuinely needs a 6800 to run, then the Go7200 will technically run it, but at horrific and most likely unplayable framerates.

Requirements these days really piss me off though, they're all over the shop. The 6800 is vastly more powerful then the X600 for example, but both are listed as minimum requirement for the respective companies. A Go7200 would be fairly close to an X600 performance wise.
