Hi guys, Just wondering about booking internal flights from bangkok to Ko samui, is it better to do this when you arrive? The flights I've priced seem quite expensive €370 roundtrip for two. I was under the impression domestic flights were quite reasonably priced.

Cheapest you can normally get is THB2,200 pp + tax for a return with Bangkok Airways, which is about Euro125. Best to book on-line and in advance IMHO. If you want cheap, take the train.

Train & Boat is about 700Bht combined 1 way for overnight air conditioned sleeper, downstairs.

Much more getting fun getting the train. The flights are expensive because I think that Bangkok airways have a monopoly on it .. or maybe thats Siem Riep I cant remember

I am over there twice a year at the xmas time and then again in April the last 4 year. Wait till you get over and book it then you can get some good deals in BKK. The flights are about 80euro max don't pay anymore than this and you are doing the route I do myself. I have a mate over there at the moment, he is living there the last 2 year so believe me book when you are there.

Yeah, Bangkok Airways have a monopoly on the Samui route.

OP, Air Asia to Surat Thani then ferry would be fairly cheap.

But i believe the train is good fun so either or.
