Does a HDMI cable make much of a diffrence, and do you use it instead of a scart lead or summit?

IN a word YYYEEESSS.If your tv is able to display full high definition then a hdmi lead will carry 4 times the data of the scart cable making games and blu ray disks look breathtaking. It'll be the best 15euro you'll ever spend

A lot of people will tell you that it does'nt matter if it costs 50euro or 10euro because a digital signal is a digital signal at the end of the day.And also you dont have to spend 40euro for a gold plated one. A friend of mine got a gold plated one in l:dl for 8euro a couple of months ago and thats gold plated, that was only one of their on day specials though.I'd say the best place to get a hdmi lead is in tesco or game.DONT pay more than 20 euro unless you want a very long cable

guys..EBAY!! I got mine for 5 euros from the U.S and yes it is gold plated and its perfect.and holy **** yes it makes a difference(as long as ur tv is HDready)
And it was a metre long........like my penis:rolleyes:

get the cheapest one you can will make no difference , gold plating is a plus as the connection will never rust

because all the non gold connections on every other device has rusted

It may actually increase the chances of rusting (if anything) as the connector on the TV/PS3 isn't gold plated.

If you use a HDMI with a DVI converter on it do you lose any picture quality?

Just thinking about a LCD TV that doesn't have any HDMI port:-

No , its pin for pin compatible , but DVI carries no sound , so you'll have to use the optical or the analog for that.
