I've searched around the forum here...some really great info up guys... was just wondering about something I was told (another myth??)..
A friend of mine, who does know his stuff in general about weight-lifting told me that in the hours after a training session drinking tea/coffee is a bad idea because of the caffiene which helps "disguise" the good attributes of the food you eat...
Like for eg having a cup of coffee/tea with a tuna sandwich after is not as good for you when compared to the sandwich and drinking like water..
(Ignoring all hydration issues for the min!!, purely for the reason mentioned above)

    Is this rubbish yea??

I think that any effect caffeine might have (as in a cup of tea or two) would be so negligible as to have almost no effect. So it isn't worth worrying about.

Caffeine does have an effect on the absorption of certain nutrients. For example I'm advised to limit my intake because of calcium problems. Having said that, all things in moderation is my motto on this particular issue.

If anything the caffeine should be taken 30mins before the session to help push through a good workout - no use afterwards
