Just putting a lagging jacket on my hot water cylinder, is it OK to cover the immersion (black plastic cover over wiring) or should I leave it sticking out.

    Leave it sticking out.

In my mind, It should be left sticking out as there is a very minor risk of the unit overheating through a fault and the insulation catching or smouldering.

Yeah, left it sticking out just to be on the safe side. Cheers for the quick replies, Joe
