KWorld DVB combo card setup problems

    Hi
    Hope somebody can help.
    I got a philips/Kworld DVB digital/analog combo Pci card.
Installed eveything ok , attached a rabbits ears aerial and went to MMC to setup.
First problem I encountered was that MMC said that the hardware was not suitable for Irish region. I then selcted UK and the hardware was accepted but after scanning no stations were found.
I have also attached NTL cable to the card and scanned but with no joy.
Is the fact that I am setup in UK mode in MMC the problem or anybody else got any ideas.
I am in Raheny so would think that I should pick up DTT but accept that I might need a better aerial

    Any help would be appreciated

    Mick

Since you selected UK it might only be searching for the known UK transponders and channels. You'll need to do some sort of blind scan.

Thanks , How do I do a blind search on MMC ?

A friend who lives in Raheny, has the KWorld DVB-T USB stick. It gets the DVB-T trial channels with a 6-inch mini-aerial, indoors. He tuned using the UK parameters.

You might have to try front/back of house?

For analogue, I think that the UK settings won't work at all, on cable, on UK settings.

Thanks for the help so far.
I went and bought a DTT & Analog aerial (all in one) also loaded DVB prog and carried out scan and found the following

This means I can receive the signal , but hasn;t solved my MMC problem

    Any ideas

    Thanks

There are only aerials. No such thing as Digital or Analog types.

Didn't realise that , but one of the other aerials i looked out said Analog only -not suitable for DTT

Watty any assistance you can provide would be gratefully received:):

If you want the irish channels via progdvb go to transponder scan inside progdvb, overwrite the frequency with 737833 and start the scan.
If you want to use mce check if there is a driver update available for your device. Microsoft is not willing to take care about the offsets in UK and Ireland and the manufactorer has to solve that problem via the driver for mce.
There is no offset in use for clermont carn.

    Hey,

With the weak dollar I decided to buy one of these from dealextreme.com.

I'm in the malahide/swords area and after much searching I haven't been able to find anything.

The adapter is BDA compatible so I'm using DVBdream.

Searching on 737833kHz is throwing up nothing.

Should I be aiming to receive from 3rock or cc?

    thanks
