    Hi All,

I was wondering if anybody uses Monthly/fortnightly disposables and how they found them or what their thoughts on them were?

Can they be left in overnight?

    Rgds,
    Ed

I use extended wear monthly disposables that can be left in overnight. The ones i use allow 6 times more oxygen into the eye than normal contacts. i find them very comfortable but still use comfort drops from time to time.

A downer is of course that its a pain cleaning them but if you get lazy you can leave my brand in overnight!

The other downer is that they can become brittle.

i have a 2 weekly Acuve lens and then a monthly Toric lense

have to say i much prefer the Acuve as the toric is hard anyway but it gets itchy towards the end of the month :(

I'm on a Ciba Air Optix lens.. find it grand.

Its handy to not be worrrying about the cost of daily contacts and to be able to switch readily between the two.

I use Air Optix night & day contacts. I love them. They are left in continuously for 30 days. Got drops for about 4 euro which I have to use very occasionally if im very tired. Another problem is the tend to cloud over a bit if you have a major crying session (im sure that isnt a problem for a lot of people - however Im quiet an emotional woman!)

The lenses are about 100 euro for three months worth but I feel they are so worth it. I just pop them in and dont have to think about it again for 30 days - Brill !!!

I started off with the air ones... 100 euro for 3 months.. then found www.lens.com they are in the sates... i ended up with 6 months for 115$ had to pay 20 euro taxes from the post office.. but still a lot cheaper than the air's.. took about a month to arrive. they are all good.. never even use eye drops.. and hardly ever have to clean them.. only if i have a bad cold and they get clogged up..

I use Biofinity all-day all-night monthly disposibles from Coopervision. I found them great but recently I have been getting pretty irriatated in my right eye though it may be just bad luck with infections and such over time.

They're worth trying but don't depend on them too much, always have glasses too just in case cos when I got these lenses first I thought I'd never need galsses again but I've had trouble with them every so often (bad luck maybe as I was saying) and then you need the glasses.

€90 for three months (3 pairs) supply in Specsavers.
