Hi I bought some items off an ebay powerseller with over 2000 positive reviews yesterday and paid for them . Today Ebay has him and his shop as 'no longer registered'. Should i be worried?

Possibly. eBay have now suspended or terminated his account. This doesn't mean you won't get what you paid for, it just makes it less likely. Had you got an item posted notification?

Try emailing the seller first, if you have his email address. Start a dispute with Paypal at the same time, just in case. Wait a couple of days for a reply on the dispute and if you get nothing, bump it up to a claim.

From my experience, the vast majority of these users are technology sellers based in Asia who seem to sell items cheaply, only for shipping to be abnormally high. I bought an MP3 recently and shortly after I paid, the guys membership was cancelled. I received an email from him shortly after saying that all orders to his customers will be dispatched.

I'm in this situation as well. Bought item, paid immediately and waited for the postman. Nothing. Grand - wait a bit longer. Still nothing. Email seller. Nothing. Go to 'my Ebay' and find the purchase has been removed from history, the item listing has vanished and the seller is no longer registered. Can't remember exact figures but he was UK based and had excellent feedback. Have now lodged a claim with Paypal.

What's *really* pissing me off about this is the behaviour of eBay. They never once contacted me to say that there appears to be a problem with the seller - I had to find out myself. I also cannot report the matter to eBay themselves as they have removed the listing - again without informing me! I have been on eBay a long time - over seven years - but it has really gone to the dogs these days. Two other transactions recently went a bit pear shaped - complete with lying sellers - but is it realistic to leave negative feedback? No - because they'll turn around and leave it for me!

Jaysus, that's bad form alright. I'd expect at the very least for eBay to contact you in such extreme circumstances.

I did, and when the product arrived not as described (was 2gb, as opposed to 4gb), I was offered a 50% refund! Maybe I was just lucky.
