SKY and Philips DVDR 3480 prob

Hi All I can't seem to tune my new Philips DVDR 3480 into the SKY satellite channels. I am sure the cables are correct but the auto-scan doesn't pick up any channel. Plays everything I've tried but would really like to get this working to record stuff. Cheers HB

I rang the dude in Audiovision where I bought it and it turns out I'm an idiot :rolleyes:
He explained what I was trying to do, as supposed to what I should have been doing
