Connecting Laptop to a TV

What are the best ways to connect a laptop to a TV so that the desktop etc is displayed on the TV? There are a few wireless solutions going around but some reviews say that they get interference from wireless broadband? Are there better/cheaper wired solutions?
    Cheers.

An S-Video cable is a nice cheap solution. It doesnt carry audio so you would need a separate audio cable. Most reasonably new TVs support S-Video and so do most laptops. If there is no S-Video Input on the back of your tv a couple of euro on a scart adaptor might do the trick. It works for me anyway.

But be warned that even with a scart adaptor older TVs may not support S-Video
