We are a call centre in Donegal with 60 staff.

We have an AVAYA IP Office PBX with 2 x PRI ISDN lines, 3 x Digital Expansion Cards and 1 x Analog Expansion Card.

We now wish to implement 1 or more GSM Gateways including Least Cost Routing. This implementation will include sourcing, costing & installation of the hardware and configuration of LCR.

Those interested in undertaking this work are requested to submit separate proposals inc recommendations and quotations for each of the following scenarios:

    1 x 4 Channel BRI GSM Gateway
2 x Vodafone SIMs - best option in terms of monthly cost, free minutes etc.
2 x 02 SIMs - best option in terms of monthly cost, free minutes etc.
    S-Bus interface card (IP Office 400 SO8)
    Installation and LCR configuration.

    1 x 8 Channel BRI GSM Gateway
4 x Vodafone SIMs - best option in terms of monthly cost, free minutes etc.
4 x 02 SIMs - best option in terms of monthly cost, free minutes etc.
    S-Bus interface card (IP Office 400 SO8)
    Installation and LCR configuration.

    1 x 30 Channel PRI GSM Gateway
    Best SIM setup.
    PRI interface card
    Installation and LCR configuration.

Top rates paid and due to our location we would also pay full travel and subsistence expenses.

    Thanks.

I'm not getting the replies I had hoped for. It is quite specailised work, I know.

If anyone knows anyone else or maybe a telecoms company who might be interested or might point me in the right direction, I would be indebted. It's work we do need done.

    Many thanks.

Very, very specialist area. Not two many people out there who would 'freelance' this area as your support company are likely to pull out if they are not the ones who do the work. I think there were some UK companies who were offering to do this kind of thing and then also provide support (albeit first level only).

If you have a support contract and need it (if a call centre I guess you do) then bite the bullet and get them to do it (but negotiate it as really its not that much work tbh)

    Hi kenco,

My thoughts exactly. We have a support contract with our PBX hardware supplier that costs us €3600 per anum. On top of this they want to charge us labour at €1200 for three hours. Their hardware costs are the most expensive I've been quoted. It's obvious they are reluctant to do the work and have suggested some vague alternatives! i.e. "DIY"!

The GSM gateway must also integrate with a voice recorder. The voice recorder vendor is charging something close to the PBX supplier. Then it's the hardware costs. If we go the PRI route this hardware will be around the €10K mark. So, I thought maybe we could get a good engineer who would source the stuff (easy enough got, supply only), plug it in and set the LCR options in the AVAYA software. A few hours work and we would pay good money.

Feel snookered now, though. Nobody wants to do the install. We are missing out on some serious savings.

we used to have a solution similar to what you describe above.

luckily for me I managed to wangle 80k for a voip phone system :)

used to use NEXTIRA ONE for pbx support.

Just wondering.... what's the point getting seperate O2/Voda sims - after all you can't tell what actual network you are ringing based on the prefix any more.

    I'd imagine it's >70% accurate tho
